In the Fall 2016 semester, I had the time of my life studying abroad at the University of Hong Kong, a partner school affiliated with FIU. During my semester abroad, I was part of the Economics & Finance faculty, which presented an opportunity to showcase my adaptability and determination to excel in every environment. Although the academic structure at HKU is severely different from FIU, I gained a different perspective on International Relations and Political views. It was extremely interesting to hear the opinions of my foreign professors, compared to the material I learn at home in Miami. I also was fortunate enough to experience an American presidential election while abroad, which was quite interesting and made me realize how the U.S. election captivates a global audience. My time at HKU was a highlight of my academic career thus far, and was made possible through the help of the FIU study abroad department.
